Demon Wings (Reggae Version)

Demon Wings

I’ve lived my life
The best I can
I’ve had my share of good and bad
I lived thru better times and sad

I’ve kept my heart
So very close.
I never gave it away.
I’ve never cared what people say, but….

Chorus:
Sometimes at night I hear demon wings.
I can’t tell if I’m awake or in a dream.
And…
I don’t remember just how it feels
But while I’m dreaming my soul is theirs to steal.

I tell myself
Life’s not that hard
I try to do the right thing
No matter what trouble brings, But

Chorus

Time is passing
Life’s road seems long
I’ve kept my promises in mind.
I’ve tried to never look behind….me but

Chorus

I wish at night I’d hear angel wings
Erase the darkness that’s always in my dreams.

(Repeat)

Demon Wings (Reggae Version) – After avoiding Covid for over 2 years I finally caught it. The second day I had a pretty high fever. During this fever I started hearing in my head my first album, Cascade, with all the songs done as reggae songs. I picked up my phone and texted Scott that I wanted to do Demon Wings as a reggae song. After I recovered, I told him we really didn’t have to do that song as reggae, but he said we should give it a try. I think it worked out pretty well! Though I’ve listened to reggae since about 1977 I’ve never tried to play it. I used my brother’s SG again on this song. I didn’t intend to put this on the album, but I like it so much that I had to. On this album we play across several genres. We play folk, country, americana, rock, bossa nova, reggae and island. I swear, there’s nothing that these session musicians can’t play.
