Leslie and I wrote this together, she provided the initial thought and lyrics, and I took it from there. This chorus initially came about from a line that I thought of while driving from East Texas to Durango, “Sometimes at night I hear angel wings”. I liked that and wanted to use it. This song wasn’t initially meant to be so dark, but sometimes a lyric just wants to be written, and demons are possibly more interesting metaphorically. Leslie did NOT come up with the demony stuff, that’s all on me. This song was written on October 18-19, 2020, though the chord progression started sometime a few months before that.
