My Life Entwined

MY LIFE ENTWINED

Intro: (First 2 lines of verse)

Sunrise is one of my favorite times
When dawn is breaking
Sunlight thru our Ponderosa pines
We wake up smiling

Chorus:
I love my life entwined (with you)
I searched so long to find (your love)
So glad that you are mine.

Repeat Intro:
The sun sets behind the mountains slowly
In the evening.
I’m so glad we are together here,
Still believing.

Chorus:

Bridge:
You came to me, just in time
It seemed the stars in the sky aligned
Your love was everything I hoped to find.

Instrumental verse:

Chorus:

(no intro)
Midnight comes, the moon is shining down
You’re softly breathing.
All the years we’ve shared have brought us what
Our hearts were seeking.
We are lost inside each other’s arms
While we are dreaming.

I love my life entwined (with you)
I searched so long to find (your love)

(Repeat)
So glad that you are mine.
(Repeat twice)

This is another love song for Leslie describing how I feel about our life together. I started this progression as we were finishing the first album, Cascade, and asked Kate Willyard, who sang backup vocals on that album, and who teaches voice and music composition in Durango, if she might hear a melody for it. She texted me a melody soon after and I kept it for this song. It’s a sweet song, and I’m not embarrassed about that! The rhyme scheme is pretty simple, mostly -ing words. That might be cheating? Ted Hockenbury plays pedal steel on this song, and we didn’t even turn it into a country song.
